Rashim McKinney
In 2015, Rashim McKinney founded Gibraltar in Montgomery, Alabama, to uplift and empower communities through people-focused and process-oriented economic development.
Growing up in Montgomery, Alabama, he experienced its rich history and cultural legacy. He was raised and developed in African American Church traditions and studied at St. Jude Educational Institute, a local luminary and cultural staple, where he played football and served as student-body president.
An active student at Tuskegee University, Rashim served as student-body vice president and treasurer, an Air Force ROTC cadet, Executive Producer of TUTV, a member of the Gamma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., and a graduate of the Andrew F. Brimmer College of Business.
Rashim was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force at Detachment 015–home of the Tuskegee Airmen after completing the ROTC program established at Tuskegee Institute in 1919.
Serving as a Space Acquisitions Officer, Rashim would embark across the globe on an invaluable journey of personal growth and leadership development which laid the foundation that anchors Gibraltar’s vision and culture today.
